A relaxed approach to wine and fine dining in Perry's historic downtown.
At Clover Wine Merchant, Michael and Lannette Tomlin have created a cozy space where guests can savor fine wines, enjoy European-inspired dining, and experience a personal touch that soothes. Their wine experience isn't simply about selection—it's about discovery and storytelling. With over 250 curated labels, they will guide you through everything from easy-drinking whites to robust reds. If you're not a wine enthusiast, Clover's full bar offers expertly crafted cocktails so everyone will find something they enjoy.
The Tomlins have been involved in the food and wine world since 1993, working with fine dining establishments and helping them develop standout menus. Michael's credential as a Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers of America adds depth to Clover's offerings. What makes Clover unique is the Tomlins' commitment to teaching and connecting with guests. With a relaxed, come-as-you-are atmosphere, they invite everyone, wine novice or expert, to share their love of quality wine and delicious food.
Fine Dining
Clover offers a fine dining experience every Wednesday through Friday evening, designed to feel like your own private dinner. "Our dining service is how we like to dine," says Lannette. The atmosphere is dimly lit and intimate, time slows down, and the focus is on savoring the company, the food, and the wine. The Tomlins are in no hurry for you to leave; your table is yours for the entire evening. They insist on generous portions made with fresh, quality ingredients; their weekly menu reflects this. Each night's choice of entrees will include:
A hand-cut ten-ounce Brasstown chateaubriand.
A hand-cut ten-ounce fish filet.
An additional choice, such as a rack of lamb or lobster risotto.
Sides are served family-style. Their chef also executes favorites like rich lobster bisque, creme brulee, and a rotating dessert selection. Dining here isn't just about eating; it's an exclusive treat where you are encouraged to linger, talk, and appreciate the moment.
Events and Experiences
Clover keeps its visitors returning with unique weekly events, experiences, and seasonal classes. Wednesdays are Flight Night, featuring tastings with themes like regional wines or grape varietals. This is ideal for those looking to expand their wine knowledge. You can even collect a passport stamp during these tastings; after eight stamps, you'll be rewarded with a $50 gift card. Saturday is called Sangria Saturday. You can stop in and chill with glasses of house-made sangria. Lunch is also offered on Saturday. They're hosting a Christmas Cocktails and Caviar class on November 16 and a Thanksgiving Centerpiece Class on November 26 for the upcoming holidays.
Their Sweet Side
Clover Wine Merchant also houses a small candy store, Alva's Chocolates, where you can purchase by the piece or box. The chocolates are handmade by a chocolatier in Nashville, TN, and handpainted just for Clover. A box of fine chocolates and a bottle of wine make the perfect gift.
