One of the most exciting additions this year is the Perry Bourbon Street Bash in February. The streets will come alive with the energy of Mardi Gras. Put on your best Mardi Gras costumes, masks, and beads, and join in the traditional second-line parade for a true taste of New Orleans. Sponsored by Orleans on Carroll Street, this event promises to bring the spirit of Mardi Gras to the heart of Perry.
The Perry International Festival, initially scheduled for September 2024, will occur on March 1, 2025. This cultural celebration features music, dance, art, and cuisine from over 25 countries, showcasing the rich diversity of Middle Georgia. Recognized as a Southeast Tourism Society "Signature Event of the Southeast," the festival is a testament to our community's inclusivity. Another beloved tradition, the Perry Independence Day Celebration, will take place on July 4. Now in its third year, this downtown event is a perfect way to celebrate America's birthday with live music, delicious food, and a spectacular fireworks display. The Perry Buzzard Drop New Year's Eve celebration will continue for the 13th year on December 31, 2025.
The 2025 calendar is filled with a variety of events to cater to different interests. Recurring events that are always a hit include Food Truck Fridays, which feature a variety of delicious dishes and live entertainment. They're scheduled for May, September, and November this year. In the spring, the Perry Presents Lawn Concert Series invites you to bring your lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy live music under the stars in March, April, and May. The fall brings the family-friendly Fall Film Series, where you can enjoy free popcorn and movies under the stars in September, October, November, and December.

Historic Downtown Perry will also host new and returning events in 2025. The Flower Bouquet Crawl in May is a delightful way to shop for Mother's Day while collecting flowers from participating businesses to create a beautiful bouquet. Downtown will continue its seasonal tasting events with a Spring Wine Tasting in April and a Fall Beer Tasting in October. The Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter will again be a hub of activity, starting with the Georgia National Rodeo in February. Cowboys and cowgirls will compete in seven thrilling categories like Saddle Bronc Riding and Bull Riding, and visitors can enjoy shopping from vendors daily. Tickets are available starting February 4 at georgianationalrodeo.com. The Georgia National Fair, running from October 2-12, remains a major highlight, attracting over a million visitors annually with rides, games, concerts, and exhibits. Maggie Lane, Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer, notes, "The Georgia National Fairgrounds welcomes over a million visitors each year, and while many come for the Georgia National Fair in October, hundreds of thousands of guests join us for unique and fun events all year. Many of these events are free for spectators and provide affordable, quality entertainment for Middle Georgia. There are many other popular events to look forward to, offering a diverse range of experiences. These include the Peaches to the Beaches Yard Sale in March, Georgia's longest yard sale stretching from Barnesville to Brunswick. The Perry Dogwood Festival will return in April with a Dogwood 5K race and a Poker Run in partnership with Angel City. The new BBQ, Brews, and Blues event will return on November 1, promising a day filled with delicious food, refreshing drinks, and soulful music.
